Chemical Industries Awards
IFC Inflow shortlisted for the Chemical Health & Safety Award
An Essex based tanker fall prevention & liquid loading equipment company has been shortlisted for the Chemical Health & Safety Awards. Nominated in two categories in this year’s Chemical Industry Awards, IFC Inflow have been a leader in the UK liquid petrochemical and chemical fluid loading industry for over 30 years.
IFC Inflow have been nominated in the ‘Chemical Industry Service Provider of the Year’ & ‘Health Leadership’ categories respectively in the awards organised by the Chemical Industries Association.
Along with providing specific safe access equipment integrating seamlessly with the client’s existing loading infrastructure, IFC have frequently designed & implemented entire site loading facilities from the ground up incorporating full safe tanker access provisions.
IFC’s nominations for Chemical Industry Awards recognise work completed for clients in the past twelve months in providing safe access systems for the potentially hazardous top loading of tankers.
The chemical industry enjoys a good safety record, so the award nominations are an acknowledgement of IFC’s contribution to the maintaining of these standards. Kiran Shaw, operations director, commented:
“it’s great to be shortlisted for these awards as we recognise the importance the chemical industry puts on safety, & this mirrors our commitment to providing solutions to their challenges.”
Health & Safety for the Tanker Loading Industry
Fall prevention has to be combined with ease of accessibility, convenience & the ability to position safe access equipment swiftly in the interests of efficiency. To this end, IFC have developed a range of safe access equipment designed to exceed health & safety working at height regulations yet be easy to manoeuvre & use.
Equipment such as safety stairs on tracks for ease of movement, & sturdy cages & stairs that can be moved manually or with power assistance, have made the Essex based company a popular choice for chemical handling clients looking to design a new safety setup or upgrade their existing arrangements.
A recent example of work undertaken that led to the company being nominated for awards this year was for a multinational West Midlands client requiring a more flexible safety cage that could be used without having to move the tanker. IFC were able to design a bespoke solution incorporating a larger safety cage with a folding stair system integrating with the client’s existing gantry.
The Chemical Industry Awards are a premier accolade for the UK chemical industry, & the awards made in twelve categories are “designed to offer a unique opportunity to highlight and promote excellent performance at the company, site or individual level” according to the Chemical Industries Association website.
Each award is sponsored by companies within the industry including household names, such as Shell & BASF this year, & the awards ceremony will be held in Liverpool at the end of June.
