Chemical and Petroleum Top Loading
ChemLoad
Our ChemLoad tanker loading arms are ideal for use with a range of liquids. These include chemicals, solvents, paints, foods and other liquids that require special handling. The arms can be used for open, semi-open or closed fill applications.
Options include heated loading arms that use electric tracing, oil or steam, and thermally clad and jacketed loading arms for insulation. These are ideal for liquids which have to be maintained at higher temperatures.
PetroLoad
Our PetroLoad arms are widely used for petroleum products and are ideal for multiple arm loading gantries. Our petroleum top loading arms are used extensively in many parts of the world where top loading is still common.
Trace Heated & Clad Loading Arms
Trace heating on our loading arms is designed to maintain a specific temperature window during loading. Common applications include keeping substances like bitumen or chocolate hot, to maintain viscosity and/or prevent the product from spoiling.
IFC offers several mechanisms for heating:
- Self-Limiting Electric Trace – for both safe and hazardous areas.
External Tubing – for steam or hot oil.
Steel Jacket Design – for extensive thermal coverage.Typically heated loading arms are clad in rock wool insulation with an aluminium outer cladding. This maintains the temperature in adverse conditions and minimises heat loss. At maintenance points and swivel joints, special removable insulated sleeves are used secured with velcro to facilitate access. The result is a loading solution that can handle thermally sensitive products during the loading and unloading process.
