Trace Heated and Clad
Trace heating on our loading arms is designed to maintain a specific temperature window during loading. Common applications include keeping substances like bitumen or chocolate hot to maintain viscosity and/or prevent the product from spoiling.
IFC Offers Several Mechanisms For Heating
Self-Limiting Electric Trace For both safe and hazardous areas.
External Tubing For steam or hot oil.
Steel Jacket Design For extensive thermal coverage.
Typically heated loading arms are clad in rock wool insulation with an aluminium outer cladding to maintain the temperature in adverse conditions and minimise heat loss. At maintenance points and swivel joints, special removable insulated sleeves are used secured with velcro to facilitate access.
The result is a loading solution that can handle thermally sensitive products during the loading and unloading process.
PTFE Lined Loading Arms
In situations where highly corrosive chemicals are being loaded, standard metals may not be suitable in the wet line. In these instances, we can use specially crafted Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) or (PFA) lined arms. The lining provides a much more resistant surface in contact with the liquid, preventing contamination and ensuring a long operating life for the equipment. If you believe that PTFE lined pipes might be suitable for your application, speak to our engineers to advise on the best way to deploy them.
