The fuelling adaptor assembly of the IFC Flyte Coupling consists of an easy to replace inner cartridge fitted into a high impact steel body, as well as a corrosion-resistant coating for durability and an outer fuel resistant bumper to help protect train bodywork. The forged steel “driving wheel” style handle makes for easy operator control and the screw type dry disconnect valve ensures safe, as well as spill free connection to rail car tanks. In addition, the inner cartridge design makes servicing and replacement easy and quick. Designed to fit onto a standard 1-1/2” BSP threaded fuel hose, so the dry disconnect type coupling features a 1/2” BSP threaded inlet.
The IFC Flyte tank valve, installed on the train fuel tank, serves as the mating tank part to our Flyte coupling. This mating part is also a dry disconnect type unit and provides spill free filling of standard UK train fuel tanks. We manufacture it from brass for durability. This valve, equipped with Viton seals and an aluminum poppet, is designed to open only when the mating coupling is screwed onto it. Suitable for all fuels, including biodiesel.
