All petroleum tanker bottom loading applications use API petroleum couplings. The couplings incorporate safety features to prevent loading unless properly connected, and they have a tapered head to ensure accurate adapter alignment. The couplers are available in manual and semi-automatic operation and all our API couplings comply with API RP1004, as well as being Atex group II, Cat 2 compliant. The couplings are available with a variety of seal materials, therefore ensuring product compatibility
There are two options for couplings, either manual or semi-automatic. The manual version requires the operator to align and fully engage the coupling onto the tanker manually and is mainly used on sites which do lower levels of tanker loading, such as small oil distribution depots. The semi-automatic coupling allows an easier alignment of the coupling onto the tanker and will “click” into place when connected properly. They see wide usage in higher-volume oil depots, as well as all petroleum terminals and refineries. We chiefly distribute API couplings manufactured by Fortvale and Dixon Bayco, both of which boast several decades of experience within the petroleum industry. Many major oil and storage companies, such as BP, Shell, Essar, Certas, and Nu-star, use our API couplings. Because, they offer reliability, durability, and are easy to maintain.
